Russian group on verge of taking control of Portsmouth
Russian sports group Convers Sport Initiatives are on the verge of completing their takeover over Portsmouth FC.
The group’s chairman Vladimir Antonov has passed by the Football League’s fit and proper persons test and admits the takeover will happen very soon.
“We’ve been conducting the negotiations for a long time. We already have the approval of the British Football League, but the commercial issues are still to be settled,” he said.
“For me it’s just business. If I wanted some entertainment, I would buy a season ticket, not the whole football club.”
